ROSE:
Our whirlwind of a pistol pony came in with a bang- quite literally. A bang of thunder rolled from the clouds as the Derecho storm of 2022 rolled in and Rose's trailer to safety was rolling out. Rose's hooves had been neglected for so long, she could hardly ambulate herself and a sling was made from a throw blanket in order to carry her from the facility she was saved from.
Rose has been failed by humans a lot in her life time, but like most miniature horses- she is full of spunk and wouldn't want you to discredit her abilities. A true survivor of some terrible neglect, Rose will require some special care so that her conditions can be properly managed and she can remain comfortable.
Rose is not physically able to work but she is capable of being a great friend. Currently she enjoys being a pasture friend to other residents at her foster's barn.

BEAUTY:
Beauty did not have an easy start to her life..
She spent her first 4 years of life on a hard concrete floor with little hoof care.Due to this, and the fact she was born with a club foot, this little sweetie needs special care.
She will require an owner with no expectations of her... but who will be diligent with hoof care and diet. No green pastures for this little girl. She will require a dirt lot. A friend with similar mobility would be best.
Although her life until rescue was difficult, she rarely lets her physical ailments keep her down. Beauty loves a good practical joke and making those who care for her laugh. Don't pass up this fun girl!

CRUZ:
6 yr old OTTB
Sadly, Cruz's race career was cut short by an injury. He underwent surgery for a knee bone chip. His prognosis is very good for flat work, but will need to be completely restarted. Cruz is currently learning to just be a horse.
Cruz is going to require an experienced handler who is familiar with restarting off track thoroughbreds.
He would excel best in a home familiar with rehabilitation of chip removal surgery.

LINDA:
Linda is a sweet mare... she does take a few minutes to warm up as she did not have the best life.... you see, Linda worked for a living. She pulled a buggy for all of her life. Then, as the years and the miles took their toll on her physically, she no longer wished to live that life.
One of her former family members called us asking for help... to find a safe place for her to land before it was too late.
Linda did just that. She landed safely at one of our foster homes, where she is learning to live the life of a non working horse. She is up for a gentle trail ride, grooming sessions and hanging with friends.
Linda does trust littles before adults... but she is learning that we don't expect a full days work and she is learning to love her new life.

Additional Information
Many people often wonder, “Why are their fees for adoption?” and to put things simply- rescue is not easy nor free. As a non-profit we run completely off the generous donations of our supporters and everything we make goes directly to their care. Volunteers care for the horses and donations make their recovery a possibility. Adoption fees won’t always cover the cost that has gone into the specific horse of interest, often times their care is much more than the fees listed. But it does provide us with funding to jump start the care for the next horse who needs our help.
