CRUZ:
6 yr old OTTB
Sadly, Cruz's race career was cut short by an injury. He underwent surgery for a knee bone chip. His prognosis is very good for flat work, but will need to be completely restarted. Cruz is currently learning to just be a horse.
Cruz is going to require an experienced handler who is familiar with restarting off track thoroughbreds.
He would excel best in a home familiar with rehabilitation of chip removal surgery.

LINDA:
Linda is a sweet mare... she does take a few minutes to warm up as she did not have the best life.... you see, Linda worked for a living. She pulled a buggy for all of her life. Then, as the years and the miles took their toll on her physically, she no longer wished to live that life.
One of her former family members called us asking for help... to find a safe place for her to land before it was too late.
Linda did just that. She landed safely at one of our foster homes, where she is learning to live the life of a non working horse. She is up for a gentle trail ride, grooming sessions and hanging with friends.
Linda does trust littles before adults... but she is learning that we don't expect a full days work and she is learning to love her new life.

Lightning
This pint sized guy is quite the timid heart, but loves his people!
Lightning has been working on learning basic ground manners and how to be brave. He has shown us that he does not know what to do with a saddle and will require and experienced and patient handler. At this time, he is not being ridden.
He is broke to lead and is working on being brave for the farrier and vet.

Lacey
A refined senior gal, Lacey is a petite framed arabian cross that loves to love! She enjoys being groomed and told how pretty all her freckles are.
She has been introduced to a saddle and safely ponied around a small adult.
Ideally, we would love for Lacey to find her forever home with her best gal pal, Suede. The two have known each other the majority of their lives and are quite attached.
She stands politely for the farrier & vet.

Suede
The spit fire of the bonded duo, Suede is a the larger arabian cross mare. She also enjoys time being groomed and adored, while being told she too is a pretty girl.
She has been introduced to a saddle and at this time will likely need chiropractic care and an experienced handler to safely introduce a saddle again. Additional Information
Many people often wonder, “Why are there fees for adoption?” and to put things simply- rescue is not easy nor free. As a non-profit we run completely off the generous donations of our supporters and everything we make goes directly to their care. Volunteers care for the horses and donations make their recovery a possibility. Adoption fees won’t always cover the cost that has gone into the specific horse of interest, often times their care is much more than the fees listed. But it does provide us with funding to jump start the care for the next horse who needs our help.
